More than 6 million visitors have already seen and fallen in love with the magnificent exhibition during stops between Zurich, Dublin, Brussels, Madrid, Seoul and Paris.

However, Bratislava is bringing something completely new: an immersive exhibition in which augmented reality technology literally draws you into the world of ancient Egyptian mysticism, sacred rituals, and revered gods.

"For the first time since the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb, there is an exhibition that allows its visitors to rediscover the treasures and funerary objects in exactly the same order in which they were discovered in 1922."
(Dr. Wilfried Seipel, Egyptologist and former director of the Vienna Museum of Fine Arts).

HOWARD CARTER – ARCHAEOLOGY, ARTIST AND DISCOVERER OF THE GREATEST GOLD TREASURE OF ANCIENT ANCIENTS

Howard Carter's biography is unique among archaeologists. A talented draftsman, he was already copying colorful paintings in the tombs of Middle Egypt at the age of seventeen. Soon after, he began his first excavations under the guidance of his teacher, Flinders Petrie.

In 1900, Howard Carter, then a young and talented archaeologist, became the Chief Inspector of the Egyptian Antiquities Service. However, his promising career was interrupted a few years later by a conflict with tourists, which led to his resignation. In 1909, Carter began working with Lord Carnarvon, who hired him as an expert in archaeological research.

Carter eventually convinced the lord to join him in a highly ambitious project: the search for the tomb of the forgotten pharaoh Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings. Carnarvon financed the venture for five years from 1917, but without success. He was about to end the excavations when, in November 1922, during the last season, Carter finally got lucky. He presented his sensational find to Lord Carnarvon – and to the whole world. The discovery stunned everyone. It sparked an unprecedented mania for ancient Egyptian treasures and launched a veritable “Tutankhamun fever” that spanned the entire era of the Roaring Twenties and influenced many decades to come.

"I see amazing things!"

The exhibition TUTANCHAMON – HIS TOMB AND TREASURES offers a unique experience. Many artifacts from the so-called "Carter's Room" have never been exhibited in museums before, and some originals are not even allowed to leave the borders of Egypt. That is why, using special technologies and under the supervision of leading world experts, their perfect replicas were precisely created, making Carter's unique discovery accessible to the general public.

UNIQUE EXHIBITION ABOUT THE LIFE OF THE PHARAOH

Tutankhamun ascended the throne in 1332 BC at the age of nine as one of the last rulers of the 18th dynasty. His father was the so-called heretic pharaoh Akhenaten, the name of his mother remains unknown to this day. According to the latest research, the young king suffered from several serious illnesses. The most significant act of his short reign is considered to be the rejection of his father's radical religious reforms, which destabilized the country and provoked resistance from the priests.

The cause of his death remains unclear. Tutankhamun died after nine years on the throne, likely due to an infection caused by an open wound on his left leg.
